Survival guide to Ghanaian Weddings/Engagements.

It's July yipee! This month is so special to me cause my mum is born on this month and so am I. But, lets reverse to last month because I want to talk about weddings and June was so full of them.  I had a wedding on my agenda every saturday, it was exciting at first but later it became so tiring. As we all know weddings are  a time of gathering to celebrate two people who love each other bla bla etc. Anyways, I had a month of experience so this is what I learnt; I will categorize it in the do's, dont's and likely to happen in a Ghanaian wedding :)
 Do's:
1. Look hot. Preferably an african print dress or simple dress with heels to match.( if you're sewing something drop it at the tailor's a month before plus the engagement cloth too lol)
2. Bring a gift but better still take an envelope with money that will be much appreciated.(sat at a gift table in one wedding and the envelopes were more than the gifts)
3.Take a friend or sista. Weddings never start on time..
4. If it is a church wedding prepare two offerings one for the church and the other for the couple hmm..
5. Smile and keep fingers crossed.
 Dont's:
1. Do not go empty handed! Plan B- envelopes..
2. Do not look like a peacock(overdressed, underdressed or show too much skin)
3. Do not wear a nice white dress to a wedding it's believed you will be stealing the attention from the bride.
 Likely to happen*
1. Annoying photographers snapping shots of you and expecting you to pay later.
2. Hugging and kissing loads of people.
3. Feeling underdressed cause Ghanaian chick can dress!
4. Being called to help serve, usher, pop champagne without prior notice
5. Meeting really nice people.

P.s follow these rules and you will become a conoisseur of Ghanaian weddings.
