The Missing Purse

Before I start narrating this melancholic drama, I have to state that this is not fictional but it is based on a true story..
On the 19/08/2011 a girl(me) decided as any other friday to go to her driving class. So, she set off in high spirits hoping she wouldn't hit any car which fortunately did not happen and actually  she's been doing pretty well for driving a manual car in this day and age. Anyways the twist in the story happens on her way back. As we all know she does not drive yet, so she had to take a tro-tro. Logically she boards the bus, pays the mate from her purse and proceeds to but it in her huge bag. But, she ends up home without her purse depressed, confused and uncertain now of how it all happened. Let's help her solve this dilemma...
Scenario: 1- She put it in her bag but forgot to zip it.
2-She thought she did number one but left it on her lap and maybe it fell.
3- It fell from her bag  as she was walking home.
4-She got down with another passenger and he could have sneeked his hands into her bag.
There wasn't a huge sum of money in it but it contained my ATM cards, my learners drivers license, my student id card and a lot of business cards (*sigh*).
I am praying for a miracle, hopefully I will write the continuation of this post with good news.

Could London Riots happen in Africa? No way!

I was browsing youtube as usual and I found this very funny Nigerian sitcom which had a response on the London Riots. The video shows exactly why this wouldn't happen here 13 year olds raiding shops?? You have got to be kidding me. Anyways enjoy..

Road rage, man holes and driving lessons..

Hoot!Hoot! kwasiaaa!(stupid in twi).. huge pot holes that procreate everyday and become deeper and wider by the minute. In my opinion African drivers have the hardest time ever, compared to the western nations. If you think am exaggerating allow me to list the 'wahala' we go through every single day.
1. Pot holes as huge as the craters on the moon. The origin of these mostly begin during the rainy season as a result of a poorly built road.
2. Policemen on pavements for some purpose. Why don't we brainstorm to figure out what exactly they do at those unlikely curves or busy streets.. Hmm..What could that be? Controlling traffic? Yehh... rite
3. Crazy commercial drivers. Anything from tro-tro's to taxis in fact, I should have made them the first danger but they are indispensable for the citizen's transportation.
4. Heat mixed with exhaust fumes! One of the worst places any one can be is parked behind an old rickety car during traffic. If there now exists fashion police then there should also be ozone protective police and maybe their based should be Ghana seriously.
5. Road rage. It is not uncommon to see these crazy drivers hoot, shout or insult at any trivial thing. Shouting earlier puts the person in a level or superiority over the other. When things start heating up then, one can now proceed to descend from the car whilst shouting.. to cut the long story short this ends in aggravating the already existing traffic.
The list goes on and on; hawkers, couples having intense conversations in their cars, handicaps begging for money and frustrated wifes.
As a result am not really excited about my driving lessons, am just at level 1 which is pass driving test and get license. But, even that one is a headache so imagine level 2 and 3.
Anyways am ending on a happy note as always, which is there is nothing better than cruising in your ride with your fave music blaring out the stereo. Keeping fingers crossed :)
