Unforgettable Memories

Today I decided to clean my email box. I hadn't done that in four years so you can imagine the tons of mails I had plus those from social network sites. Anyways, I re-discovered  an old email message that made it worthwhile. It was sent about four years ago by a highschool classmate a few months before I graduated. I remeber when I first saw it I was speechless and confused. Well, what do you expect from a sixteen year old girl. But, what he didn't know was that his words had a profound effect on me and made me want to strive to be a better lady than I was.  Here is the message he sent;

Hey how u doing? There's something that's been heavy on my heart for a while now and i think I have to confess.
Ever since the day i met you, i was attracted by you. Your maturity, your character, etc. I tried being with other girls and i entered the illusion that i could forget you but unfortunately, it was to no avail. Every time you appear in my mind. There's something about you, your inaccessibility that gives you a particular charm no other girl has.

Unfortunately, I realize that you are too different and also too serious and that I have very low chances with you but nevertheless, I will feel better once you know what i feel about you. I'm not asking for anything, I just want to relieve myself by confessing. I hope this won't alter our friendship and won't change the way you see me. Don't worry nothing will change.

PS: PLEASE DONT TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS AND DELETE THIS MESSAGE AS SOON AS YOU'VE FINISHED READING IT.

Sorry, because it did change things. It made me appreciate the frienship we had I was blessed to have known you. Sorry again, because I didnt follow the instructions couldn't delete it.Who knows maybe it is going to touch a heart today. Also, this made me realize that there would always be someone who would love you for who you are. Even if you are 'serious' like me or 'friendly' and if man can see past negative aspects and appreciate a person.. How much more God?
In conclusion, this is the season for sharing. God shared his only begotten son with the world and this memory is so unforgettable that we've been celebrating him for more than two hundred years. Let's also give others unforgettable memories this season!

It's December finally! really.. so soon?

I don't know about other West African countries but in Ghana it is on the onset of  harmattan that we realize that Christmas and New year are just around the coner, a bit like when children get excited when they see the first drop of snow in the west. Today, went to church as usual but noticed that my throat was suddenly dry, my lips were chapped and my fingers were cold and those are the unmistaken symptomps of harmattan.
So, since 2011 is left with a few days I might as well just take stock of it now and leave the resolutions for next year to be written on the 31st.

This year frankly has not been all rosy, with the war in Ivory Coast, my mum's new school in Ghana, the death of my friend's father and I recently learnt my childhood friend who used to go to church with me is pregnant. Hmm, really made me recognize the blessing that I had supportive friends and family to protect me and keep me on the right path. I thank God for that.
